NOMINEES | EXEMPLARS OF LIGHT

“Weaving a Dream”
Invoking the sounds of the past, present and future with her signature frame drum, Karen Renee leads a processional of sound healing through the audience, weaving vibrations together in a magical, dreamlike setting. Accompanied by soundscape instrumentalists, Maria Brannon, Kristin Clark, Jo-Jo Jackson and Caroline Bolich Sledge.
Weaving a Dream Soundscape: Kevin Madill, WaterTrace Productions
Video Photography: Kevin Schlatt Photography
Wardrobe: Karen Renee is wearing an original design by Leslie Stephens of Ola Mai.

“I See You”
In this one-act play, playwright and director, Angela Taylor, draws us into two stories of Nashville’s invisible, those who struggle with homelessness. In bright contrast, is Sheldon’s ability to “see” these individuals as people in need of food, warmth and love. The play features the poem, A Love Letter To Our Homeless by Dr. Lori Todd. Performed by Abra Cadabra, Lynn E. Cadabra, Janiya S. West, Sirionna E. West and voice-over by Obeah Awno Ka.

“Mitakuye Oyasin”
‘All are related.’ The stories and wisdom of the Lakota Tribe lead us to see that all peoples are part of one family. Drawing us together around a campfire scene, and through songs played on a traditional wooden flute, Brent Law will open our hearts... and with the words of his personal journey, he will fill them with wisdom.

“Music City Medium Experience”
In her sparkly, cosmic style, astrologer and psychic medium Suzie Kerr Wright will first share a little wisdom from the stars about the energies supporting Lightworkers today, before launching into a live gallery reading. In a gallery reading, Suzie creates an intimate space where she receives messages from those who have crossed over and lovingly passes them on to members of the audience - offering connection, healing and closure.

“Healing Through Song”
Singer-songwriter, Jenn Franklin, shares about her work with Operation Song and how she first discovered the ability to channel songs for the healing of others. On screen, those who have worked with Jenn reflect her ability to deeply listen, empathize and “hold space” for their experiences. Jenn will sing and play two of her original songs, “Come Home” and “Hold Up the World.” Jenn, on keyboard, is accompanied by cellist, Cara Fox.
